Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:4

Perseverance in trouble times doesn’t come easy, especially when you feel like you are beating the air.  When the world says, “Give up,”Hope whispers, “Try it one more time.” ~Author Unknown  Perseverance is not giving up!

How many of us have felt that we’ve reached the end?  You feel like God can’t take you any further in your prayer life.  Your so weary it’s not even funny.  You feel like your prayers are repetitious and meaningless.

Oh you know how to put on a fake smile for everyone.

You’ve fasted and prayed to no avail (so you think).  Then you question yourselves, “I’m I really saved?”  “Our my prayers even being heard by God?”

First off if you have Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life the answer to those two questions is a big YES!!!!

But nevertheless you still feel deader than a doorknob. 🙂

The apostle Paul knew very well we would be in seasons of despair and emptiness when he wrote:

Galatians 6:9

And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

Seasons are one of four periods of the year that we deal with in different dates in different climates, characterized by particular conditions of weather.

Four Season

  • Winter

Winter for you, might be a time that you feel spiritual coldness for the things of God?  No matter how hard you try you feel your heart getting cold towards the things you once felt so passionate for but now that passion has slowly faded away.  Your emotions now feel like weights on your shoulders when at one time you felt so different.

  • Summer

And for some you might be in the heat of summer where trials and hardships facing dead on in the face. Having a feeling of being out in the desert without water insight.  You feel things getting so hot in your life that you can’t breath.  The sun is surging waves of fire down your face that you think you rather die than go through this.

These are the seasons where prayer is the last thing on your mind.  Prayer is like a chore rather than a blessing.  How can I pray when I feel like this?  In Galatians says, not to relax but rather let our courage kick in.

  • Autumn

Autumn is the season between summer and winter, fall.

I like to put it this way.  Fall is when we allow God to let the things that need to fall off of us take place, like our bad attitudes, our bitterness, our hate towards others.  Letting these things go is a sign of maturity in our life.  How do we let go?  We lay it on the altar of God.

Some good words of advice for those who are struggling in letting these negative emotions go are, LAY IT DOWN AND F O R G E T  A B O U T IT!!!!!!!!

Autumn is time of full maturity, especially in the late stage of full maturity.

I believe it comes from the trails of winter and summer that develop us into the person God wants us to be.  He wants us to mature in the things of God through these hardships.

Ephesians 1:10

He Planned for the maturity of the times and climax of the ages to unity all things and had them up and consummate them in Christ, both things in heaven and things on the earth.

Matthew 5:48

You, therefore, must be perfect growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity, as you’re heavenly Father is perfect.

  • Spring

Spring means to come into being by growth, as from a seed or bulb, as plants by the river of life.

I want to blossom and grow in the things of God don’t you?

Psalms 1:3

And he shall be like a tree firmly planted and tended by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in it’s season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper and come to maturity.

Those verses sum it all up.  So be encouraged your season is coming and the year of harvest is at hand.  Cheer up and press in and allow God to develop you in whatever season you find yourself in today.  There is a quote that says “And this too it shall pass”

A good friend and sister in the Lord, just recently posted a quote on her Facebook page.  It stated, “Heaven is no trick, and Hell is no treat.  I am so glad Halloween is behind us this year.  Halloween is consider the devil’s month.  But, guess what?  Everyday we are at war with our adversary.

This morning, I was pondering on the things, we as Christian pray for.  Do we pray for souls to get saved?  Do we pray for our ministers to be covered by God’s Holy Spirit?  Do we pray for the nations of the world?

Or, could our prayers be more like, “Lord I want that new car” or, perhaps “Lord I want to be rich.”  Which of course those two are not a sin if they are prayed for with a good heart.  But, what about praying for what’s on God’s mind and heart for the world. When Jesus instructed the disciples to pray, he basely told them to keep it simply.

Matthew 6 7-13 message bible

This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need.  With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply.  Like this:

Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are.  Set the world right; Do what’s best–as above, so below.  Keep us alive with three square meals.  Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving other.  Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.  You’re in charge!  You can do anything you want!  You’re ablaze in beauty! Yes. Yes. Yes.

l.  Reveal who you are! (Do you know God’s heart?)

2. Set the world right! (Our you praying for the world to get things right with God?)

3. Do what’s best! (Are you living your life, to get what you want or think is best for you, and what God’s thinks is best for you?)

4.  Heaven on Earth. (Do you desire to experience Heaven on earth?)

5.  Meet our daily needs. (Are you always wanting more and more things, and never satisfied?)

6.  Forgiveness towards God and others. (Are you holding grudges towards God or anyone?)

7.  Keep us safe from ourselves (love that) and others. (Yes, safe from ourselves!)

8.  God, You are in Charge and can do anything you want! (Is He?  Or are you holding on to what you want, no matter what it takes to get it?)

Twelve Things Satanist Pray (or say) for Daily

Information: The CuttingEdge.org

1. That the Anti-Christ will come before the church is ready.

2. That ministries, leaders, and missionaries will fall.

3. That ministries and works of the Lord will be destroyed.

4. That Christians become complacent, want peace above all, seek churches that do not preach the full gospel and pastors who will seek peace at all costs.

5. That Christians stop fasting and praying.

6. That Gifts of the Spirit shall be ignored.

7. That families and marriages break up.

8. That pastors, ministers, and leaders of The Body fall into dispute and turn on each other.

9. No unity of pastors and churches within cities.

10. That pastors and leaders fall into illness and disability so they can no longer carry on.

11. That the next generation will be murdered and not come into their generational destiny.`

12. That the church will not loose and equip people to come into their destiny.

They are speaking divisiveness and false unity.  Seeking to destroy faith.

The way Satanist pray, kinda makes you wonder why we go through some of the things we do.

Jezebel Spirit

Let me ask you some typical question regarding the Jezebel Spirit.

Do you feel guilty even though you know you are innocent?

Have you been attacked and don’t know why ?

Are you a victim to a controlling, strongly influential person who seem to hate you?

Perhaps you have run into a devilish “Jezebel Spirit.”

Don’t try to change or defend yourself from this type of person.  Instead pray for them to be set free from the Jezebel control over their life. And pray for yourself to be loosened from their web of deception.

Satan would love to make you a prisoner to a spirit of fear and bondage by the Jezebel spirit, through manipulation and lies.  This spirit wants to take control of your peace and joy.

The “Jezebel Spirit” is sociopathic!  It has lack of empathy; disregards the rights of others).

maniac; any  intemperate or overly zealous or enthusiastic person when it comes to details.

It has a huge ego and wants to meet its desires and need for power.  The Jezebel spirit does this by assuming false authority by any means possible.  With this false authority, the Jezebel spirit not only fulfills its need for power, but also gets tremendous ego satisfaction as it continually maneuvers for a position of control.  Is this spirit in your church?  or are there those who possess this spirit in your church?

More Characteristic of the Jezebel

l.  They gain power by destroying others.  It is like adrenalin rush when they “win” over someone.  They manage to get in a position of authority and are difficult to get rid of.

2.  They are controlling,  manipulative, bossy.

3.  They can either be war-like in their personalities, so that they are intimidating, or so “sweet,” “perfect,” deceitful, “timid” and sneaky.  They are able to fool and recruit others to join them.  Sometimes they can be very charming and charismatic.

4.  They are critical of others, vicious to the point of bloodthirsty.

5.  They are never wrong.

6.  They recruit others in their charges against their victims.  They act to persuade recruits, and do not give up this activity until the recruits are won over.  If the potential recruits do not cooperate and buy into things, this angers them.

7.  They are narcissistic (self-important).  While they can tend to be oversensitive themselves, they have no feelings or concerns for others.  They are not sympathetic to their victims, and tend to play the role of victim themselves, in order to gain sympathy.  This way the real victim is left stranded, and opposed by others if they ask for help.

Being the center of attention really pleases them.

8.  They lie, and believe their own lie.  Avoiding the truth, or intentionally acting to withhold truth is part of this.  A false picture is presented to others.

9.  They are impulsive, fail to plan ahead, and are chaotic at times.

10.  They lack remorse after hurting someone, they justify the harm.

11.  They are consistently irresponsibility for their behavior and other areas of their lives.

12.  They are irritable, aggressive (open or subtle) and can be quick-tempered.

13.  They fail to conform to social norms.  They have their own ways.

14.  Psychological counseling will not help them since they deny what they are.

15. They claim to have religious sentimentality, but are very superficial in devotion.  Born-agian status is debatable, and unlikely, but would have to be evaluated on and individual basis.

16.  They are usually women, but can be men.

17.  They falsely accuse you, and they do NOT forgive you.

Wow, that about sums it up for now.  If, you are caught up in the web of a “Jezebel Spirit,”

pray this out loud

Father, because I submit to you and the authority that you have given me, through the blood of Jesus Christ.  I renounce any bondage or web of the Jezebel spirit upon my life and the life of my love ones.  I renounce any curses or demonic spirits that try to intimidate me with lies and manipulations.  In Jesus mighty name, I break them off me and my family and my church in Jesus Name.  I renounce the spirit of fear in Jesus Name.  Loosen the spirit of peace and freedom in my life.  Thank you Jesus for freedom that comes from you and you alone.  There is power in the name and blood of Jesus Christ. Amen.

With today’s  technology, by a tap on your smartphone or social media device, in a micro second, you can instantly send out a prayer request to a multiple of people, that are hundreds of miles away.

In 2010, 84 million Americans accessed the Internet through mobile devices, and this number is expected to double by 2014.”  In addition,   “In a few years, smartphones, netbooks and tablet computers will be the primary means of accessing the internet…”  These statements come straight out of the book, “Management Information Systems – Managing the Digital Firm,” by Kenneth C. Laudon and Jane P. Laudonone

Wow, amazing!  You can trust that your message will reach its destination, but are you as confident that the one receiving the message will pray for your need?  I am, and I’m undaunted with the fact that our network of prayer warriors are on the job praying earnestly for every single request.  The instant you receive a prayer request,  people’s lives or their love one lives, may be on the line and need their urgent and dire needs met the moment it reaches us.

When I personally get a prayer request, I put myself in that person asking for prayer shoes.   At times that overwhelms me to the cord.  Then I reach down into my spirit and pray for them with my heart as if it was me in their position.

Isaiah 62:6

I have set watchman upon your walls, O Jerusalem, who will never hold their peace day or night; you who (are His servants and by your prayers) put the Lord in remembrance (for His promises) keep not silence…

There is power in united prayer when;

1.      Two or more pray in one mind.

2.      Where the presence of Christ is leading you.

3.      When there is unity of the body.

4.      When we pray and believe for one another.

5.     When we pray from our heart.

Today, as most of you reading this blog know, our dear sister Lisa Valenzuela Gallindo is in need of our prayers for her husband Nacho!  She requested that we get as many in the body of Christ to pray the following prayer.

We are commanding all in Jesus Name!

l.  Command out the spirit of death in Jesus name!

2. I command every blockage to be dissolved and removed in Jesus Name!

3. I command all damage tissue of the brain to be healed and restored and to function normally in Jesus Name!

4.  I command a creative miracle of a new brain in Jesus Name!

5.  I command the communication from the brain to the body to be restored and function normally In Jesus Name!

6.  I rebuke every negative word spoken over him by Doctors and nurses in Jesus Name!

7.  I renounce the trauma from His head to toe to be casted out in Jesus name!

8.  I speak a long and healthy Life over him in the mighty name of Jesus Amen, and Amen!

God Bless!

Mrs. Barbara Casas

Recognize your opponent and focus on that, instead of always looking at the circumstances and others as the cause of your misery.  It is Satan and his demons that influence others to act the way they act at times. I have learned through the years, that my battles are fought on my knees.  It’s a waste of time and energy to fight on your own strength and abilities, when it comes to spiritual warfare.  When you fight like that, you find yourself feeling weary, overwhelmed and deflated of all your joy and strength.

Another way you fight the good fight of faith, is to study God’s word.  We have to use the word and proclaim the promises of God when we are warring.  Memorize and speak the word out loud.  It has power and will shake demons to the core.  They hate the word as much, or even more than they hate the prayer of God.

When you pray, do it with all your heart and soul.  Warring in prayer is critical in our walk with God.  It is called proclaiming and decreeing and standing firm on the word.

Call it out for what it is; for example, if it’s anger, blind anger in Jesus Name.  If it’s thoughts of murder or strive than look up the scriptures and cast it out in the name of Jesus.  If it’s lust and thoughts of adultery than call it out for what it is and blind it in the name of Jesus.

Don’t just sit there like a sitting duck and allow Satan to have a field day with your mind and emotions.  Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and fight in Jesus Name.  Call it out, it is what it is my friend.  It’s spiritual warfare.

This fight is not for the faint hearted, it is for soldiers that will stand up and pray, read and use the weapons God has given us to proclaim our victory over our enemies.

Smile Jesus loves you.

Ephesians 6:10-19

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might (not your might) . 11 Put on the whole armorer of  God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, and against rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto y0u the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  14 Stand therefore, having your loins about with truth. (your mind filled with the word) and having the breastplate of righteousness (living right) 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. (your walking where God wants you to walk); 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (faith in God is going to give you the strength to fight) And the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Need I say more?

Till next time!

Mrs. Barbara Casas

If there’s anything more important than prayer it’s repentance. We cannot fully grasp the power of prayer, without going through, the process of personal repentance. I have prayed, for many people and have literally felt a steel wall, holding back their breakthrough, only because of lack of repentance from sin.  It’s after I lead them in a prayer of repentance, that the walls come tumbling down and victory is won.

2 Chronicles 33:11-13

Then God directed the leaders of the troops of the king of Assyria to come after Mansseh.  They put a hook in his nose, shackles on his feet, and took him off to Babylon.  Now that he was in trouble, he went to his knees in prayer asking for help-total repentance before the God of his ancestors.  As he prayed, God was touched; God listened and brought him back to Jerusalem as king.  That convinced Manasseh that God was in control.

That’s so typical, of what most of us do, when we get ourselves into trouble?  It’s only them, that we think of going to God for help.

Before we run to God for help, we end up  spiritually like Menasseh, with a hook in our nose, shackles on our feet, and in a self-made prison.  But, like Manseeh, when we find ourselves all bond-up in some kind of sin; we should fall on our knees and ask God for help, total repentance in prayer. This should be done on a daily basis.  Not one day, should go by, without prayer and repentance.  We all fall, short and we all need to examine our hearts, before God daily!

What happens when we do this?  God, listens and takes us to the place, where we need to be.  Then you will realize that He is in control and you have answer prayers.

What holds you back from complete breakthrough?  Is it secret sin? Is it laziness?  How about pride?  Pride makes you think, I don’t need anyones help, I can handle this myself.

For the most part everyone reading this blog, may not say that out loud, but in your heart, your attitude is the same.  I don’t need your help God!  And you’ll show it, by living a prayer-less and un-repented lifestyle.  That needs to change today.

So, let us repent and ask God for the forgiveness of our sins.  And let us pray with a heart after God.

Till next Time!

Mrs. Barbara Casas

Jesus tells us through his word about prayer.  Prayer is not for us to act like we know it all and that we are experts in prayer.  But he did leave us examples of how we can have a successful prayer life.  There are three keys will unlock your prayer life to a new dimension; one is “Consistency in Prayer,” two is “Heartfelt Prayers” and three “Humble Prayers.”

Matthew 6:7-13

The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer ignorant.  They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God.  Don’t fall for that nonsense.  This your Father you’re dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need.  With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply.

I like that saying, “keep it simply stupid” and that’s exactly what Christ meant with the above scripture.  Prayer is not to be complicated but simply and sincere.

Here are the “three keys” to prayer that get results from the word of God:

“Consistency in Prayer”  Jesus was the ultimate example of “consistent prayer.”  He pleaded with his disciples to pray consistently by telling them this story:

Luke 18: 1-7 “message bible”

Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit. He said “There was once a judge in some city who never gave God a thought and cared nothing for people.  A widow in that city kept after him: “My rights are being violated. Protect me!”  “He never gave her the time of day.  But after this went on and on he said to himself, “I care nothing what God thinks, even less what people think.  But because this widow won’t quit badgering me, I’d better do something and see that she gets justice–otherwise I’m ring to end up beaten black-and-blue by her pounding.”

“Heartfelt Prayers” ‘

When we pray God wants us to mean our words with a sincere heart.  He wants us to feel our prayers with a clean heart and pure motives.  We need to get things right with him before making our request to him.  And he wants us to mean it when we tell people “I will pray for you. Don’t just say it and not mean it.”  That comes from a “pious spirit” which means we are being hypocritical in our prayers. How many times have you told someone nonchalantly “I will pray for you?” You only said it because it was the right thing to say but never felt it in your heart to pray.  I think all of us our guilty of that.  Jesus rebuked the disciple about this exact thing.

Matthew 5:33-37 “message bible”

“And don’t say anything you don’t mean.  This is embedded deep in our traditions.  You only make things worse when you lay down a smoke screen pious talk, saying, I’ll pray for you, and never doing it, or saying, “God be with you” and not meaning it.  You don’t make your words true by embellishing them with religious lace.  In making your speech sound more religious, it becomes less true.  Just say “yes and no” when you manipulate words to get your way, you go wrong.

“Humble Prayers”

We need to pray with humble intentions and great expectations so our prayer can be excepted by God.  They must be prayers that we give thought and humble observation.  And give full deep consideration that we are praying with a humble heart. If we pray like this it will reflect in whether or not our prayers are answered.

1 Tim 2:1-3

The first thing I want you to do is pray.  Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.  Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in “Humble Contemplation” this the way our Savior God wants us to live.

So let’s make a conscious effort to let our prayers be heartfelt.  And remember don’t give up or let up on your prayers.  Be consistent and stay humble. When someone asks you to pray for them mean it when you response back to them with a big “Yes,”  but be sincere about it with all your heart. And if it’s “no” you’re not going to pray, then don’t say anything at all.

So there you have it like the apostle Paul put it, the first thing I want you to do is; “Pray, Pray anyway you know how and pray for your leaders and live a quite and simply life.

Till next time!

Mrs. Barbara Casas

Wow, Jesus didn’t hold back the truth no matter what feedback he would get from it.  Especially  in the topic of prayer.  He straight out told them, hey listen if you’re going to pray just so you can be seen by your pastor or someone you’re trying to impress then save your breath.  Don’t bother cause your prayers are in vain.

Let me give you some love here! I’m not calling you a hypocrite, but if there is a hint of hypocrisy in us God burn it out of us in Jesus name.  And if you want to hear it the way I was raised in the Lord, if the shoe fits wear it.

Matthew 6:5

And when you pray don’t do it like the hypocrites… to be seen of all men…

During this time men were not having secret prayer but rather they prefer praying where they could be seen by many and receive praise from men rather than praise from God.

The bible clearly points out several faults concerning prayer. (1) false ambition (2) vain babbling (3) un-forgiving heart (4) pride (5) falling asleep in prayer.

(1) False ambition is to pray to seek self-glory and feed the ego by receiving attention from others on how much and great your prayers are and how many hours you stand in front of people and pray with elegant speech.

(2) Vain babbling is speaking empty words that sound great but have no heart behind them.

(3) Un-forgiving hearts, Jesus said it plainly like this, if you are about to make an offering and have a grudge with someone to stop go to that person and ask for forgiveness before you go any further.  I truly believe with all my heart this applies to prayer as well.  Anything we do in the house of worship should be done with a clear conscience and clean heart.

(Mark 11:22-25) Jesus was matter-of-fact: I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large.  Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking.  If you have anything against someone, forgive–only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.

(4) Pride has many roots and God hates them all! Pride also comes before a fall (scary). One root is self-righteousness.  When we  think of ourselves to be better than others.  Mr. and Mrs. know it all and can do no wrong.  These type of Christians think they can help everyone and need no help themselves.  Jesus talks about this in the story of the Pharisees and publican.  The Pharisee was praying like a hypocrite while the publican knew he was a sinner.

(Luke 18:9-12)

He told his next story to some who were complacently pleased with themselves over their moral performance and looked down their noses at the common people:  “Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one a Pharisee, the other a tax man.  The Pharisee posed and prayed like this: “oh, God, I thank you that I am not like other people–robbers, crooks, adulterers, or, heaven forbid, like this tax man.  I fast twice a week and tithe on all my income.” “Meanwhile the tax man, slumped in the shadows, his face in his hands, not daring to look up, said, “God, give mercy. Forgive me, a sinner.” Jesus commented, “This tax man, not the other, went home-made it right with God.  If you walk around with your nose in the air, you’re going to end up flat on your face, but it you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.”

(5) Falling asleep in prayer per se is not a sin, but Jesus wants us to be awake in prayer because he understood the importance of watching and praying.  Things happen during prayer that need us to be alert and ready for battle.  If we fall asleep and can’t stay up that very hour we will miss the mark of watchful prayers. (Matt. 26:40)

Praying in public was common and is common in our churches today.  It’s a practice that brings unity and strength to the body of Christ.  But it is to be done with the right state of mind.  To bring Glory and honor to God with our whole hearts mind and souls.

Yes God!!!

Fearless In the Storm

There will be times in our walk with God that the storm will not go away, but we must walk through it. One sister in my church, came up to me, and handed me a paper,  which had a word, from the Lord for me. The first sentence read, “I pray for supernatural strength, for what you are about to go through.”

I didn’t want to hear that was going to go through it.  It also read, that it was going to be a “stretching of my faith.”

By now, I was feeling my bones on fire and flu-like symptoms every day. I knew that it was Satan, messing with me, so that I can give into what my body was dictating to me; that the cancer had spread and I are going to die. I had to gird up my mind, with the word, with worship and praise 24/7.

Fear was at my door, and it was calling out my name. The fear would literally make my body tremble. In the beginning, of all this a dear sister, name Dolores Holley, told me that the Lord had told her that all I was going to have at the end of all this, was a little scar; that looked like a small burn, and that the devil was just wasting my time. Another sister, from my church, that didn’t know what I was going through, told me that the Lord had given her a funny word, and she thought it was off the wall; but she was going to give it to me anyway.  It said,  “Barbara that she is going to live to be an old lady and was going to see all of my promises fulfilled.”

Those were the words that kept me going in faith! So I went through my biopsy on December 15, 2011, with no scaring or pain and the doctor and the nurses sensed something in the room that they even mentioned to me that they were still talking about it days later. They said that there was a peace over me that was all around the room. Well, I told them of course it was the power of prayer and it was the manifest presence of God almighty.

Did you get that? “Power of Prayer” that is what sustains us through the storm and whatever we go through we can do it with courage and confident in our savior and King Jesus Christ. This comes from prayer and connecting with the Almighty.

Acts 27:20

20 When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved. NIV

Isn’t that like human nature that when we don’t see the light in our situations we give up hope so easily. But the key is not to be lead on our human nature but turn to the creator of the entire universe the one that by one word from His mouth can calm any storm in our life.

Acts 27:23-27

Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me 24 and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ 25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. 26 Nevertheless, we must run aground on some island.” NIV

Paul took courage in the word that came from the Lord to Him that night and that my friend is where we get our courage and strength. The people who were with Paul were afraid and fear had taken hold of their lives through the raging of the storm.

But Paul spoke courage to the men and spoke faith into their lives. A stretching of your faith will bring you out more confident in God no matter what is taking place in your life.

Paul said, nevertheless we must still go through it for a while! God didn’t immediately take them out of the storm but comforted them through the storm.

On December 19, 201, about 5 pm l got the phone call, from Dr. Champagne, that the biopsy confirmed, that it was cancer. She said, that a team of doctors, would go over my case and meet with me two days before Christmas.

I remember going deep in prayer, and meditation, in his word, and quoting it out loud, the scripture on healing, from the depths of my soul. One night, my son and daughter in-law Sabrina were visiting,  I was in my room praying; I was crying out, from a place I didn’t even know existed, and it startled Sabrina and she asked my son is your mom okay? He told her, yes,  she is crying out to God. That day, I felt my heart take courage, and the fear left me.

December 23, 2011,  I was getting ready meet the four doctors to disgust my treatment; as I prepare to go, I started a conversation with God, telling him how sorry I was for crumbling down with fear.  I told him Lord, you know me! You know everything about me! Help me, to go through this and not give up the fight. I walked out and heard a song, called “Turn it all around” from Misty Edwards. It felt like it came from God’s mouth to my heart. I broke out crying, and thanking God, for being tangible, and so ever close in my storm.

After talking to the doctors, they were very hopeful that the cancer was localize and curable. Thank you Jesus!!!  I was talking to a social worker,  smiling and listening to what she had to say, when one of my daughters interrupted her by asking, is my mom acting normal, for what she is going through? Wow, what is normal? What the world considers normal is not normal, when looking at things through God’s eyes, and through His plan, we have nothing to fear!

I looked up the word fear and there was an interesting definition;

That which a person is afraid: Cancer is a common fear.

Honestly, before this I never feared death or cancer, but now I fight the thoughts of death, and terminal illness. But,  I trust in my God, and I trust in His plan for my life.  This fight is under the blood of Jesus!!!

Ps 55:5-8

Fear and trembling have beset me;

horror has overwhelmed me.

6 I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove!

I would fly away and be at rest —

7 I would flee far away

and stay in the desert;

8 I would hurry to my place of shelter,

far from the tempest and storm.” NIV

Do you find yourself in some kind of storm? Well rest in the shadow of the most high. Learn the power of prayer through the storm! Pray even when you don’t feel like it! Pray in your darkest moments in life!!!

Ps 57:1-3

7 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me,

for in you my soul takes refuge.

I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings

until the disaster has passed.

2 I cry out to God Most High,

to God, who fulfills [his purpose] for me.

3 He sends from heaven and saves me,

rebuking those who hotly pursue me; NIV

When you are in prayer, and cry out to God, from the depths of your soul, that is the key to our relief and comfort in hard times. And knowing, that He will fulfill His purpose for you will bring comfort, beyond measure!!

God Bless!

He wanted her Attention and now He has it!

“Through my Sufferings”

Shortly after I called on my family and friends to pray concerning the cancer threat that was upon my life  I received a word from a lady from one of our northern churches which I will only share part of it with to you.

 December 9, 2011 at 9:08 am

He wanted her attention and now He has it.  We Praise You Father for healing, for the wisdom, the revelation you are imparting in her for others.  New chapter in her life and God is totally in control.  Thank you Father amen.

When I shared this with one of my family members they said that those words were hard to swallow, “He wanted her attention and now He has it.”  They continue by saying, you pray, you are always seeking him daily.  How could that be?

I responded back immediately and said, “No this is something much deeper and it goes down to the core of my being.   Things only God and I alone know, that inner voice that woos us closer to surrender the things that bring harm to us, but yet we continue doing them.

Job 34:28

The cry of the afflicted got God’s attention… the message bible

I asked myself “Barbara” what did you do, to allow this to happen?  I remember turning to the book of “Job” wanting to find answers to the many questions flooding my mind.

Job 1:7-12

7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.”

8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”

12 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.  NIV

Commentary notes,  Job 1:6-12

The permission God gave to Satan to afflict Job for the trial of his sincerity. Satan desired God to do it: Put forth thy hand now. God allowed him to do it (v. 12): “All that he has is in thy hand; make the trial as sharp as thou canst; do thy worst at him.” Now, 1. It is a matter of wonder that God should give Satan such a permission as this, should deliver the soul of his turtle-dove into the hand of the adversary, such a lamb to such a lion; but he did it for his own glory, the honour of Job, the explanation of Providence, and the encouragement of his afflicted people in all ages, to make a case which, being adjudged, might be a useful precedent. He suffered Job to be tried, as he suffered Peter to be sifted, but took care that his faith should not fail.  (from Matthew Henry’s Commentary)

So there you have it Job was perfect in God’s eyes and yet Satan challenged him and wanted to prove that Job would curse God for allowing suffering to come upon him.

I needed to know from God what it was that I needed to do to get through this evil that had come my way.  I call this part of my journey the “dark tunnel of uncertainty.”

It took a few days before I would know if the cost would be covered to continue with the tests and treatment that needed to be done.  So I waited, in the mean while I waited, I felt sick to my stomach for months, it would be 2 weeks sick and 2 weeks feeling a little better.  My lungs and bones ached like they were on fire and I felt very weak.

A few days after my first examinations while taking a nap I heard the phone ring, It was ‘a call from my primary care office saying that I needed to get on this like yesterday and things didn’t look good from what they understood. It was eating into my veins and the grade of the aggressiveness of the cancer was at the highest level.

I thanked them and reassured them that I was not going to procrastinate one minute and would move forward as soon as my paperwork was completed.

When I hung up the phone I felt like I was in a dark tunnel and a dark  cloud over me touting me with the words ever so loudly “You are going to Die!”.

I leaned over on my husband’s shoulder and wept.  I didn’t want to die I wanted to live.  I wanted to be with my life partner my husband and spread the gospel to nations.  But what I wanted and what my body was telling me was that I was a very sick person and that it was over.

That weekend we went to Modesto California so my husband could minister.  I felt sicker than ever but knew I needed to be there with him and support the man of my dreams.  The man who I pledged to stay with for better or for worse, no matter what I was going to go with him and be by his side.

As we enter the hotel room I remember holding him so tight and crying out to him, Danny I love you and we are going to see the world together and spread the good news of God among the nations.  I don’t want to leave you and I will fight this thing with God on our side and yes we will win because God said we will!

My body was telling me otherwise, I felt weaker by the second.  I just wanted to close my eyes and not fight.

As we were there in The Modesto church New Harvest Christian Fellowship God used my husband so graciously and I felt the Lord speak to me and say, you will travel with him and be a team for my purpose and doors will open up for the both of you to spread my presence to others.

Calling the Intercessors…

I called on the ladies from my church that I knew were serious intercessor.  I needed them more than ever to believe with me that I will live and death is not a part of the equation.

I remember calling them into my office and telling them what I was facing.  I literally felt them stirred to the point of a Godly anger and refused to accept anything other than victory and life come out of this.  I also have a big army of brothers and sisters throughout the world praying for me.

So the fight is on!  Yes, God has my attention loud and clear!  Does He have your attention?  Don’t wait till hardship comes knocking on your door.  Rise up and hearken unto the voice of the Lord and allow him to get to the core of your being and purge you from the things that you hold on to you that brings harm or perhaps a slow death.  Surrender and allow God to purify your character through adversities.

We really need God  to go in deeper where bitterness and anger, bad choices or bad habits, or what about unforgiveness so God can pull these thing out from us.. These all bring harm to your body, soul, and spirit.

Though this part of suffering in my life God has my total attention.  How about you?  When you allow God to purge you from the core of your being it will take your prayer life to a whole new level of intimacy.

Please subscribe today these will be posted weekly.  Also share them with a friend and pass them on.  I also want you to leave a comment to share with others that might need to hear from you.  God Bless!

Mrs. Barbara Casas;

Rom 8:18-19

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. NIV

Saints,  Prayer Warriors, and Women of God,  I am going to open my heart to you with all the love that I have to relate to you the revelation God has given me through suffering.  Some things you might not agree with or even understand. We as Christians will not understand all of God’s way.  Some things will be revealed to us here on earth through revelation, but not all the mysteries will be revealed to you and I, the rest of the pieces of the puzzles of Life will make sense when we get to heaven.

Rom 8:18-19    ;

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.  NIV

Job 11:7-8

“Can you fathom the mysteries of God?

Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?

8 They are higher than the heavens — what can you do?

One of the mysteries that have had controversy is why do good people suffer?  I don’t have the answer to that question but I can share my experience with it firsthand.

In the month July of 2011,  I felt a lump on my breast.  I thought that it would disappear like the rest of them that I had felt in the past.  September 2011 I felt it a little bigger but put it out of my mind again hoping it would just go away.  Then in November the end of the month I felt it again this time I jumped off my bed and told my husband,  Danny,  “Honey, this doesn’t feel right at all!”  I have to make an appointment.  Dec 2, 2011 my appointment for a mammogram  was scheduled  for 12:30 p.m.  I sat there waiting for over an hour and all I kept thinking,  “I’m leaving this appointment”  if they don’t call me soon I will just reschedule for a later time.  Anyway, my mother is 86 years old and never had any problems.  Then the thought I know the devil was trying to block from my mind was the fact that my little sister suffered breast cancer at the age of 40 and a stepsister from my father side had also at a young age,  had suffered the same faith.

All of a sudden my thoughts got interrupted by the nice receptionist as if she knew what I was thinking at the time told me,  Mrs. Casas,  I am going to see what the delay is with your appointment. She came back saying, “it is some technical difficulties”, (devil I think was) trying to get me out of there.  She said, “they are going to call you very soon.”

So I waited, finally a serious looking lady name Patty came out calling me to the examining room.  She looked at my history and started off with a long speech about waiting 3 years before getting a checkup.  Yes, you got it, I waited 3 years.

I had been to these exams in the pass but this one, I knew in my heart was different.  For months I heard a still small voice tell me “Your about to go through something very difficult but I will see you through it all!! I would look at my lovely and adorable family and plead with God please God not my family.  So I would intercede for them what seem like day and night.  I would wake up at 2 am and 3 am pleading the blood of Jesus over each family member for God to protect them from harm’s way.

Then Patty, the technician, told me to take a seat and left the room but immediately turned back around because she knew I could see the x-ray which I did see the mass right there in front of me.  That’s when I heard the words again in my mind “You are about to go through something very difficult but I will see you through it all!

My heart sank into my stomach as I sat there waiting. Then Patty returns back in the room with a distressed look on her face, as if she knew me personally and showed deep concern as she asked me the question, “Did you know you have a mass?” Why did you wait?

She said we are going to do an ultrasound mammogram and you are going to see a doctor before you leave so he can explain to you what is taking place so you can seek further care of these serious findings.

I felt my whole body trembling as if I was cold as ice and fear grip my heart.  I laid there on the examining table thinking about my husband in the waiting room not really knowing anything serious was going on with his wife of 30 years.   That’s what broke my heart the most of all, was the people who I love and love me, they are going to suffer right alongside me.  I couldn’t bear to see them hurt for me.

While I laid there still waiting on the doctor, a gentlemen comes in to tell me that the program that covered for the mammogram would not cover the extra tests that they ran on me, but said he knew I didn’t expect this to happen so he decided to waive all the rest of the fees.  I couldn’t hold back the tears because I knew the hand of God was already at work and yes I heard the words that would comfort me on this journey of suffering “You are about to go through something very difficult, but I am seeing you through it all!!

The doctor showed me the X-rays and showed me the mass and told me this is where our concern is with the spots, that are highly suspicious to be malignant.

I lost my breath for a minute, wanting to run out, which I did, and wanting to get to my husband.  He was smiling when he saw me which broke my heart, then he saw the distress on my face, he asked, “what’s wrong?”  I couldn’t talk, I  just rested my head on his chest and sobbed.

When I got my composure I said, “Danny they found a mass and they highly think it is malignant.”  I want to tell you,  I had the victory and knew everything was going to be alright, but I would be lying to you.  I had to find God.

I called my friends and told them I needed prayer and I didn’t care who knew, I needed it; I wanted everyone to pray for me with all their hearts.  Which I knew I had a great support group of prayer warriors.  That’s what I’m talking about, “Prayer” is the key to finding God and with this network of women and men that know how to pray, I found comfort that I was never alone.  God was with me and my immediate family and also “T.R.A.I.L” an army of warriors that are standing with me through the thick and the thin.  I love you all from the bottom of my heart.

I will continue my journey with you soon, stay in touch and spread the word to others to read my story of the power of prayer that comes from an army of warriors that I am very proud to be a part of and call my family of God.  I thank, most of all, my immediate family that has been by my side every second of the way!  I’m truly blessed!!  My sister Vera has been a great comfort to me as well!

God Bless,

Mrs. Barbara Casas
